Baptist Health South Florida and Belmont Village Senior Living Form Joint Venture

MIAMI–Baptist Health South Florida, the largest not-for-profit healthcare organization in the region, and Belmont Village Senior Living, a nationally recognized seniors housing provider, announced March 15 that they created a venture to develop, own and operate senior living communities in South Florida. The venture is launching with the creation of a community close to the Shops at Merrick Park in downtown Coral Gables.

“Our aim with this partnership is nothing short of reinventing wellness and quality of life for seniors in South Florida,” said Patricia Will, Belmont Village Founder and CEO.  “Thanks to the richness of experience each team brings, we have the potential to change the paradigm for lifestyle and care for the extraordinary elderly population in this region.”

The area initially targeted by the partnership will include Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Monroe counties.

“At Baptist Health, we have a deep commitment to serve the South Florida community,” said Brian E. Keeley, President and CEO for Baptist Health South Florida. “Partnering with Belmont Village is a natural fit as both our organizations share the same dedication to providing high-quality compassionate care.”

The Coral Gables project will be located at 250 Bird Road, bounded by Aurora Street, Altara Avenue and Salzedo Street. Construction is projected to start mid-2020 and to be complete within two years of commencement.

Belmont Village will manage development and operation of Belmont Village Coral Gables, which will offer Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care. This project, the company’s first with Baptist Health South Florida, will be Belmont Village’s second community in the region. Belmont Village Fort Lauderdale is currently under construction at 1031 Seminole Drive and projected to open Fall 2019.

Baptist Health South Florida is the largest healthcare organization in the region, a not-for-profit organization with 10 hospitals (Baptist Hospital, Baptist Children’s Hospital, Bethesda Hospital East, Bethesda Hospital West, Doctors Hospital, Fishermen’s Community Hospital, Homestead Hospital, Mariners Hospital, South Miami Hospital and West Kendall Baptist Hospital), more than 40 physician practices, 50 outpatient and urgent care facilities, Baptist Health Medical Group, Baptist Health Quality Network and internationally renowned centers of excellence spanning across Monroe, Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.

Belmont Village Senior Living is a fully integrated developer, owner and operator of high quality seniors housing communities. The company is a premier provider of independent living, assisted living and award-winning memory care in major market areas.  Currently Belmont Village has 29 operating properties, comprising approximately 4,000 units, in seven states and Mexico City.
