Buckner Retirement Services Appoints Phil Elmore Director of Hospitality

DALLASBuckner Retirement Services announces the hiring of industry veteran Phil Elmore as the Director of Hospitality, effective Jan. 20. The position will oversee the facilitation, coaching and curriculum development of resident experience training for staff at all six of BRS’s communities across Texas.

“For almost two decades I have worked closely with the Buckner Retirement Services team as a like-minded Senior Care professional,” said Elmore. “I have always admired the leadership and their commitment to excellent care and services, their ethical business model and their focus on serving God. I am happy to begin my journey with this team.”

As a 23-year veteran of the senior living industry, Elmore brings a strong resumé and valuable experience to the position. He most recently served as president and CEO of Christian Care Centers, Inc. from 2004 through 2018.

“We have had the privilege of getting to know Phil over the years and are excited to add his expertise to our team,” said BRS Senior Vice President Charlie Wilson. “Phil will be responsible for strengthening the signature Buckner brand of hospitality through a strategic approach that will translate across all of our areas of service and continue to elevate our overall resident experience.”

Elmore is a 20-year member of Leading Age Texas. He also served on the board of Educational Institute on Aging for nearly 10 years. He holds a Master of Science from The University of Texas at Dallas and a Bachelor of Arts and Science from Abilene Christian University.

Elmore joins BRS on the heels of its 2019 recognition as one of the Best Workplaces for Aging Services (small and medium) by Great Place to Work®, in partnership with Fortune Magazine. Part of his new role will be to continue developing the workplace culture that promotes forward-thinking, compassionate employees dedicated to delivering great service to residents.

“I believe the service of senior adults is an honorable field of ministry that challenges our minds each day to inspire others to do better. My passion is to encourage others to serve, mentor the young to lead and give of myself each day in the betterment of service delivery to an elderly population who have given so much to us and asked so little in return,” said Elmore.
