Capital Senior Living Communities Receive Accolades Nationwide

April 25, 2019

DALLAS–Capital Senior Living, one of the nation’s largest operators of senior living communities, announced today that several of its senior living communities and members of its team earned accolades for their commitment to the sector and the local areas they serve.

Waterford at Deer Park in Deer Park, TX, was named Business of the Year by The Deer Park Chamber of Commerce and recognized for its service, leadership and contributions to the continued growth and development of the city. In this case, the Waterford at Deer Park was acknowledged for their comeback efforts in rebuilding its community on the heels of Hurricane Harvey. The community experienced flood and infrastructure damage and raced to repair and restore.

In addition to the recognition from the Chamber, The Waterford at Deer Park earned honorable mentions about this prominent community award from U.S. Senator John Cornyn when he honored the community and residents with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from the people of the 36th Congressional District, led by Congressman Brian Babin.

The Waterford on Huebner in San Antonio, TX, was awarded Best Senior Living (independent/retirement) community in the San Antonio area in Senior Resource Guide’s 2018 Readers’ Choice Awards. The Waterford on Huebner received the most votes cast by readers, recognizing the community for its excellence.

Cheryl Hartman was named Regional Manager of the Year by the Ohio Assisted Living Association (OALA). Each year OALA, a non-profit membership organization dedicated to providing advocacy, communication, education and resources for Ohio’s assisted living industry, recognizes efforts of individuals in the profession who have done an outstanding job. These individuals are nominated by their peers and the residents in their communities. Hartman, a resident of Cynget, Ohio, has spent 10 of her 34 years in the senior living industry at Capital Senior Living as executive director for four years and regional manager in Ohio for six years.

“These awards reflect the commitment of our team and the hard work they perform every day to ensure our residents are happy, safe, comfortable and living enriched lives in our communities. We are proud and honored that our communities and colleagues stand out in their local markets, and earned these accolades,” said Kimberly Lody, president and chief executive officer at Capital Senior Living.
