Country Meadows Residents Assemble Kits for Kids to Aid in Remote Learning

BETHLEHEM, Pa. (Sept. 15, 2020) —In an effort to support Country Meadows Retirement Communities’ co-workers and their children who are attending school online, residents at Country Meadows of Bethlehem are assembling “Kits for Kids.”
Kits are focused on S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) projects and include homemade kinetic sand infused with lavender oil to promote natural stress relief while encouraging creativity and science; color and create puppets and bookmarks.
Also included are materials for aspiring engineers to build a boat to enter in Country Meadows’ Float Your Boat Challenge. Youths may use only the supplies provided in the kit and their boat must float. Parents are encouraged to post a video of their child making/floating their boat with the hashtag #CMFloat. Anyone who posts a video using that hashtag will be entered to win the “Science is Fun” prize. (This contest is open only to children of Country Meadows’ co-workers who receive a kit.)
“We are creating the kits to support our co-workers who may be struggling with children being home for school and to help boost morale,” says Jill A’Hearn-Country Meadows.
The winner of the Float Your Boat challenge will be randomly selected from all entries and posted on September 30th.
