Eversound Rolls Out its Technology at The Bristal Assisted Living Communities

March 4, 2020

BOSTON, MAEversound is now working with The Bristal Assisted Living (The Bristal) to transform daily life for residents and staff in their assisted living and memory care communities by helping to prevent social isolation and depression through its specifically designed headphone technology and content-driven platform, Eversound Engage.

As part of the full rollout, The Bristal will be implementing Eversound into 20 of their communities located in New York and New Jersey and will be used in their independent living, assisted living and memory care settings. Known for its innovative outlook, The Bristal has a track record for implementing initiatives and technologies that enhance the quality of life of its residents.

George Solano, Regional Director of Recreation at The Bristal remarked “We have had great success and positive feedback utilizing this technology. Eversound has proved to be a beneficial addition to programming, and helps residents to feel more engaged with activities. We look forward to introducing this technology to residents and families at all of our communities throughout the tri-state area.”

The decision to incorporate Eversound into programming at all of their communities comes after successful pilots in several of The Bristal locations who have used Eversound to improve engagement in group activities. Of those locations surveyed, many communities also found success in delivering music therapy to residents through Eversound’s headphone system.

Eversound’s proprietary engagement technology is specifically designed for seniors and uses wireless headphones to enhance focus and engagement. In tandem with Eversound’s easy-to-use headphones, Eversound’s interactive and versatile content-driven platform, Engage, empowers staff to provide exceptional programming to residents.

“We are humbled to work with The Bristal Assisted Living in such a complete capacity and are elated to know we are impacting so many residents by improving their quality of life across all of The Bristal’s communities,” said Matt Reiners, co-founder of Eversound. “We are excited to partner with such an innovative and person-centered provider.”

Many residents in assisted living and memory care communities often struggle to hear which prevents them from fully engaging or participating in activities. Approximately one in three people between the ages of 65 and 74 have hearing loss, and nearly fifty percent of those over 75 have difficulty hearing. Studies continue to show that untreated hearing loss can increase the risk of dementia, falls, and social isolation.

A recent study published by Front Porch Center of Innovation and Wellness showed efficacy of Eversound’s ability to increase engagement, participation and in some cases, mood by upwards of 60 percent.2

“Our mission is to improve the quality of life for at-risk seniors,” said Jake Reisch, CEO and co-founder of Eversound. “Every day we learn of more older adults having their lives transformed by our solution and more communities making powerful differences in the daily life of their residents.”

Eversound recently unveiled a 2-Headphone Package to accompany their standard, group 10-Headphone Package, for enhanced one-on-one interactions between residents, their families and caregivers. Eversound currently is used to enhance well-being for over 6,000 residents in more than 500 communities across the United States

Eversound’s engagement-amplifying tool transforms daily life for residents and staff in memory care and assisted living communities. Eversound provides powerful benefits for all residents–including individuals that experience hearing loss, dementia and other health conditions–and is a simple solution that makes a profound difference. By empowering residents to engage with their communities, Eversound helps prevent social isolation and depression. Eversound prioritizes healthy engagement and well-being through its five use cases—group activities, communication with caregivers, visits with family and friends, music therapy, and prospective resident tours—to improve socialization that may reduce the risk of dementia, falls, and other health conditions. Eversound’s team is dedicated to improving the lives of residents in senior living communities.

The Bristal Assisted Living first opened its doors in 2000. Twenty years later, it has grown into a family of 20 senior living communities throughout the tri-state area—and counting.
