VERO BEACH, FL–Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA), a regional senior living operator and development company based here, has promoted Kim Lewis to chief operating officer (COO) of the company after serving five years as its vp of operations.

In her new role, Lewis will oversee HRA Operations, leadership talent acquisition, operational strategies and innovation. She will also partner with the development team in assuring new development communities effectively support operations while retaining a hospitality focus, according to Harbor Retirement Associates President and CEO Sarabeth Hanson.

“In seeking an individual with the proper skills and traits to fill the COO position, we considered a commitment to servant leadership, operational savvy and exceptional communication skills to be paramount, along with a passion for making a profound and positive difference in the lives of our residents,” said Hanson. “I am particularly pleased that we found our ideal candidate here inside our own company. It’s noteworthy that Kim’s strong record of operational success in her previous position has fueled our ongoing expansion.”

Lewis has more than 20 years of experience in senior living operations management. Prior to joining HRA, she worked at The Care Bridge Corporation/SLC for eight years and previously had spent 12 years at Brookdale Senior Living.

During her career in senior living, Lewis has continuously held positions of increasing responsibility, including home health administrator, assisted living administrator, executive director, district director, regional director and vice president.
