BLOOMFIELD, NJ–Chuck Hastings, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Juniper Communities, has been named by NJBIZ as one of the top CFOs in the state in the category of Private Company with revenues over $50MM. The program celebrates New Jersey’s financial executives at all levels who contribute to the success of New Jersey’s economic growth and stability.

Hastings, a financial executive with over 25 years of experience in health care finance, does not just understand finance—he also understands the ins and outs of the seniors housing industry and has a proven track record of developing programs which are leading in the industry and making a positive impact in New Jersey and nationwide.

As CFO of the Bloomfield, NJ-based Juniper Communities, he oversees the operations of 23 assisted living and skilled nursing facilities located throughout the United States. His outstanding contributions and implementation of best practices in finance and business development have been instrumental in driving the growth of Juniper’s portfolio, with revenues of over $83 million, up from $49,000,000 in 2011.

“Since joining the company in 1996, Chuck has helped build Juniper Communities by maintaining a firm foundation of strong operations,” said Lynne Katzmann, founder and CEO of Juniper Communities. “Chuck has been instrumental in leading Juniper’s efforts to grow via acquisition of distressed or undermanaged properties and driving our efforts to go paperless in our annual audit and tax processes. With his financial acumen for leveraging assets, Juniper is poised to implement a broad, inclusive approach to its continued growth and success.”

“It is an honor to be recognized with such an esteemed group of peers in the NJ business community,” said Chuck Hastings. “Being an NJBiz top pick is a reflection of our accomplished finance team at Juniper, which I respectfully refer to as Juniper Berries, for most of the team has grown with us for well over a decade. Juniper’s profitable operational model delivers a measurably better quality of life for residents and higher value to society, which is a reward in itself, so this recognition is a double win.”

Hastings earned a BA from Princeton University and an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, with a dual major in Health Care Management and Entrepreneurial Management. He and his wife have a son, a daughter and a large Irish wolfhound and live in Bernardsville.
