August 2, 2017

HOUSTON–Houston-based Belmont Village Senior Living proudly announces the opening of its first international community in Mexico City, Belmont Village Santa Fe, on May 25. The upscale community features 133 exclusive apartments designed for the needs of elder residents in a first-of-its-kind assisted living and memory care community. It is part of a mixed-use building which also hosts the Hyatt House hotel, retail shops and a medical office tower and is directly connected via pedestrian bridge to the ABC Santa Fe’s Medical Center. The mixed-use development aims to meet the growing need for senior-specific housing with health support, as population aging is one of the Mexico’s major national issues.

“Assisted Living communities are virtually unknown to many who live in Mexico City, which has one of the largest aging population centers in the country,” said Patricia Will, CEO and founder of Belmont Village Senior Living. “We want to provide families with a safe, care alternative for their aging parents. Having lived and worked in Mexico for many years, I understand the special relationships that exists and the family dynamic. We want Belmont Village to be part of the solution for families when it comes to making one life’s biggest decisions.”

Belmont Village Santa Fe is the 25th community to be added to the company’s portfolio and will offer the same high-standard of operations and care, strong clinical support and innovative programming as its 24 U.S. counterparts. Belmont Village Santa Fe assisted living residents will have everything they need to thrive physically, socially and mentally at their fingertips – a professionally managed fitness center with on-site therapy services, a licensed nurse and well-trained staff on-site 24/7, on-site medical doctor as Director of Resident Care Service, innovative enrichment programs, and a vibrant social activity calendar.

Residents with Mild Cognitive Impairment and early to moderate memory loss can benefit from the Circle of Friends program, recently recognized as Best of the Best in Memory Care by Argentum, the largest national association for senior living providers in the U.S. Circle of Friends is a research and evidence-based memory enrichment program focused on maintaining brain function through therapeutic activities. Residents participate in an enhanced, seven-day calendar of activities that engage the six domains of mental fitness – critical thinking, memory-body movement, learning, sequencing, long-term memory and problem solving.

For those with more advanced memory loss, the Memory Care Neighborhood offers a private, custom-designed area within the community with a specially-trained, dedicated staff led by a memory program coordinator. The therapeutic program activities are adapted to fit the needs and abilities of each individual, preserving their happiness, health and dignity and providing purposeful days.
