Leisure Care to Provide New Options for Seniors in St. Charles

March 28, 2018

SEATTLE–Leisure Care, one of the largest senior housing management companies in the country, will open a new assisted living and memory care community to complement the services provided at its established Fairwinds – River’s Edge location. Opening this summer, The Landing of O’Fallon will be located just 13 miles away from Fairwinds–River’s Edge in St. Charles, Missouri.

“We’re really looking forward to opening O’Fallon and offering new services to seniors in St. Charles,” said Jim Ausmus, general manager at Fairwinds – River’s Edge and operations director for The Landing of O’Fallon. “Fairwinds – River’s Edge has been 100 percent occupied for the last four years, so it’s the right time for Leisure Care to expand and provide continuity and comfort for those who transition into assisted living.”

The new community will offer 79 spacious studio, one bedroom, and two bedroom assisted living apartments as well as 55 private and neighbor suites for memory care. This combination of assisted living and memory care services aims to build on the services that are already offered at River’s Edge while strengthening the community and providing personalized options for residents.

The Landing of O’Fallon will be in a prime location right near convenient shopping, fresh farmer’s markets, high-quality health care and the banks of the Missouri River. Located just outside of St. Louis, O’Fallon and its surrounding cities of St. Charles, St. Peters and Chesterfield offer residents the perfect balance of big-city living and small-town comfort.

In addition to better serving the local seniors, The Landing of O’Fallon will employ approximately 70 people in the area, many who are transitioning into new roles from the River’s Edge property in St. Charles.

“I truly believe it’s our people that make the difference,” adds Ausmus. “We’ve put the right people in the right positions, and our residents benefit most by living in a community that helps them thrive.”
