Meridian Senior Living Added Two Senior Living Communities in Lafayette, LA, to Its Portfolio

May 1, 2019

Located in the heart of Lafayette, these senior living communities provide a wealth of amenities such as activity rooms, salons, formal dining rooms, courtyards, and chef-prepared fresh meals. Cedar Crest offers a bistro and herbal garden enclosed by an intimate courtyard. The Rosewood community offers cottages for independent living residents that are open to a beautiful courtyard appointed with mature trees and landscaping. In both communities, Meridian also delivers special interest and wellness programs to keep seniors active and involved, both physically and socially.

“I’ve had the opportunity to work in many communities in the United States; however, in Lafayette, we were met with open arms and some of the most gratuitous hospitality I have ever experienced,” said Kevin Carlin, Principal and Chief Sales Officer. “Our culture at Meridian is based on a concept that we call The WOW! Experience®, where we teach our teams to ‘create extraordinary experiences that make people say WOW!’ I have to say people in and around Lafayette already live this every day. We are proud to part of the Lafayette community and providing great care and enriching the lives of seniors.”

Meridian is committed to infusing its signature program: The WOW! Experience® (the WOW!) into Cedar Crest and Rosewood communities. As everyone is unique and brings their own individual past and passions, the WOW! is about celebrating people’s personalized history and interests. In every interaction and moment, Meridian’s staff creates extraordinary experiences and special moments to build a story in the residents’ lives. Meridian’s collective expertise, combined with an innovative approach, has given Meridian a long and proven history of delighted residents, families and team members.

Meridian’s highly acclaimed Montessori Moments in Time Memory Care Program will be available to Dementia and Alzheimer’s patients at Cedar Crest Memory Care. The goals of MMIT at Cedar Crest Memory Care are to enhance living for those with memory challenges by using the five directional paths. Each directional path has the resident and family in mind to encourage independence and helps deal with the progression of Alzheimer’s disease and other related dementias. These paths include Family Connections, Health and Wellness, Dining Experience, Life Engagement, and Team Promise.

“We are so happy to see businesses like Meridian move into the Lafayette area bringing leadership and education to the community,” said Mary Ann Mahtook, Director, Investor & Member Relations of One Acadiana Chamber. “Our goal is to continue to work with businesses such as yours to partner and bring a stronger infrastructure to the area and attract even more businesses.”

“Just wanting to drop in and say how AMAZING it was to meet you and your teams yesterday,” said Victoria Lane, Coordinator, Member Relations of Acadiana Chamber. “You are a light and listening to your knowledge and wisdom yesterday was inspiring-I definitely took notes!”
