New Assisted Living and Memory Care Under Construction in San Marcos, Texas

SAN MARCOS, TX–Investcor Development and Integral Senior Living, working in collaboration with Pi Architects, have started construction on a new Assisted Living and Memory Care project in San Marcos, TX. This new 72,500 sq. ft. community will include 68 Assisted Living apartments and 24 Memory Care units.

This carefully crafted community includes a core of activity spaces that open to large courtyards and connect with resident rooms. Glass spans the space between the courtyards filling the large gallery with natural light. The overall layout of the community was designed to minimize travel distance for residents and maximize staff efficiencies for providing quality care and service.

Courtyards with lush lawns, ornamental plantings and large shade trees encourage residents to move, experience, and engage with each other and the exterior spaces. The Memory Care courtyard provides secure open movement for the residents. Residents may enjoy the calming serenity of a water feature, multiple shaded seating options, and therapeutic physical activity including raised accessible gardens and walking paths.

Each design element promotes self-directed and programmed wellness activities. One of the Assisted Living courtyards provides a measured walking loop to encourage movement and physical competition amongst residents, a social lounge area with firepit, and various shaded seating options. The second Assisted Living courtyard includes a covered arbor activity and dining plaza, surrounded by multiple shaded seating areas and comfortable benches. There is an outdoor kitchen, and raised accessible planters with storage for tools. A featured water fountain visible from inside the community through large windows entices residents to engage with the various indoor/outdoor spaces.
