Orange County’s Rowntree Gardens Senior Living Celebrating Historic 50th Anniversary & Completion of Major Reinvestment Project

September 30, 2015

STANTON, Calif., 2015 marks 50 years that thousands of Orange County seniors have called not-for-profit Rowntree Gardens Senior Living (www.rowntreegardens.org) an inviting, compassionate and caring home. This is also the year (and month) that Rowntree Gardens completed its biggest structural improvement / reinvestment since its founding. The organization is marking these very special occasions with a major event – the “Decades of Devotion” celebration.

The invitation-only celebration is being hosted by popular radio personality Tim Conway Jr., who will introduce honorees, and legendary baseball icon Steve Garvey. Both gentlemen will meet with and sign autographs for guests.

Faith-based Rowntree Gardens is one of Orange County’s only five-star Medicare-rated, Continuous Care Retirement Communities (CCRC). Rowntree Gardens is also Stanton’s largest employer, with a 332-member staff.

Designed to celebrate the past and embrace the future, the event will honor several Rowntree Gardens’ staff who have dedicated most of their professional careers – all more than 20 years and a few more than 40 years – to serving the organization and its senior community members.

“Staff commitment, compassion and sincere caring are hallmarks of Rowntree Gardens,” stated CEO and Board Chair Randy Brown. “The average tenure of our staff is 13 years. Most of our community members consider our folks extended family and friends.”

The Decades of Devotion Celebration happens October 1 from 12-3 p.m., at Rowntree Gardens at 12151 Dale Street, in Stanton.

LOOKING TO THE NEXT 50 YEARS
In late 2013, the organization exhaustively reviewed and identified an array of potential changes necessary to help ensure its continued leadership and growth as a compassionate, caring and preferred senior-living community. The process identified three primary areas for major reinvestment: infrastructure, community member care and programming, and branding.

“We’ve worked very hard at modernizing to meet and exceed seniors’ evolved expectations; and we’re constantly looking to innovate with new programming and offerings, as well as additional construction projects in the near future,” Brown continued. “We are rightfully proud of our past, but even more excited about our future.”

Infrastructure improvements have included: totally renovated dining areas, living / common rooms, parking areas, hallways, bathrooms, offices and more; updated apartments with modern kitchenettes; a new outdoor kitchen and dining area; community-wide Wi-Fi access; improved landscaping and gardens; new signage; and much more.
