The Palace Group Celebrates Groundbreaking of Newest Community

June 26, 2018

WESTON, FLThe Palace Group, South Florida’s largest privately-owned developer and operator of Senior Living communities, broke ground on The Palace at Weston in the spring and will open its Leasing Center later this year. The community is projected to open in 2020.

The 320-unit Palace at Weston is planned for a 7.5 acre site located at 16025 Emerald Estates Drive which is next to The Palms at Weston, a luxury active adult condominium community the company completed in 2008.

“If we look to The Palace at Coral Gables, I am convinced the new Palace at Weston is going to be bigger and better than that community ever was and it’s going to enrich our community,” said City of Weston Mayor Daniel J. Stermer.  “We look forward to the day when residents move in.”

The Palace at Weston will offer three distinct levels of care including independent, assisted living and memory care in three separate, adjoining buildings within the gated, secure complex and will be designed reflecting the level of luxury that is the trademark of The Palace Group.

TD Bank awarded a $95 million construction loan to The Palace Group and work has commenced at the site by Coastal Construction, LLC which has been the general contractor for the company’s communities, The New Palace Gardens and The Palace Coral Gables.

The innovative architectural design by Salazar Architectural Group will reflects the Mediterranean influences found throughout Weston.  A luxurious, elegant, yet comfortable environment will be created for seniors and their families that encourages vitality, socialization and a sense of community. Perla Lichi Luxury has been awarded the design contract for the interior design of the community.

Each level of care will have its own unique public spaces and staffing making these separate and distinct communities within the community. Also unique is the size of residences found at The at Palace Weston which will range from 834 to nearly 1,200 square feet and the inclusion of dens in both independent and assisted living.  These residences are 20% larger than similar communities in Broward County.

“Our research indicates there is the growing desire for additional space for families and/or caregivers within apartments and we want to raise the bar of expectations,” said Jacob Shaham, CEO of The Palace Group.

Among the signature public spaces that The Palace Group has found to be enjoyed by residents and offer increased opportunities for socialization that will be included in the independent living community are a central plaza and bar, theater, state-of-the-art fitness complex with a yoga room, and fine dining restaurant. Outdoor spaces include a lushly landscaped courtyard and swimming pool.

In assisted living, similar amenities will include the plaza and bar, theater, library, arts and crafts, courtyard with swimming pool.

Memory care is planned to include a plaza and bar, activity room and the multi-sensory memory care programming amenities such as a multisensory room for calming and relaxation, physical therapy and a medical clinic.

“We’re very excited to begin this next phase for The Palace Group,” said Shaham. “We have eagerly anticipated our return to the vibrant city of Weston and to answer the needs of families desiring to have their parents closer. When we opened The Palms, we anticipated the need for the next level of care and services unmet by an active adult community.”

The location of The Palace Weston is ideal with shopping and dining in easy access as well as being only one mile from the world renowned Cleveland Clinic Hospital.
