Resort-style Senior Living Community Breaks Ground in York County, SC, Providing New Options for Growing Population

FORT MILL, SC–Developers break ground today on a resort-style senior living community that will bring modern living options for the growing aging population in York County and the greater Charlotte area.
The Blake at Baxter Village, developed by Blake Management Group and Capital Ventures Inc., will be an 88,000-square-foot development designed for comfortable, safe and enjoyable senior living that will include assisted living and memory care apartments as well as two-bedroom independent living cottages. It’s the second such facility the partners have developed in the region and the fourth in South Carolina. Sister property The Blake at Edgewater opened less than 10 miles away in Indian Land in January.
“Fort Mill and York County have seen a rapid increase in population, thanks to the high quality of life we see here,” said Jeremy Cole, CEO of Blake Management Group. “This area—and this location in Baxter Village—is ideal for seniors and their families who want quality care and access to amenities.”
As part of the Baxter Village master-planned subdivision, the new senior living community will embrace the neighborhood’s front porch style living and have easy access to entertainment, shopping and dining within Baxter Town Center. In keeping with the care-centered, hospitality-driven philosophy of Blake Management Group, The Blake at Baxter Village will be staffed by registered nurses 24 hours a day, seven days a week and meals will be prepared purposefully for seniors by highly-trained chefs.

Charleston-based Frampton Construction Company is the general contractor on the project. The Blake at Baxter Village is expected to open in May 2019 and provide more than 60 full- and part-time jobs in the community.
