January 17, 2018

JENKINTOWN, PA—Presby’s Inspired Life has received unanimous final development approvals from Abington Township for the cottage home expansion of the Rydal Park Life Plan Community, to be known as Rydal Waters.

“Abington Township is excited to welcome the Rydal Waters expansion of Rydal Park to our community,” said Abington Township Commissioner Ben Sanchez. “For over 40 years, Rydal Park has been a terrific ‘neighbor’ that has provided an outstanding living experience for so many of our township’s senior residents. This project will allow Rydal Park to serve an even broader market within and beyond our community that is consistent with its high quality and standards that we know we can expect from it.”

In addition to the planned cottages, the expansion includes a clubhouse with fitness center; multipurpose space with fireplace and audio/visual capabilities; cocktail lounge; outdoor, heated swimming pool; fire pit; outdoor grilling area; and more.

“We are so proud of how well our team and Abington Township worked in partnership to develop a solid plan,” said Judee Bavaria, president and CEO of Presby’s Inspired Life. “This plan allows the beautiful Rydal Waters property of 85 planned cottage homes to be constructed in a way that will attract new residents to our campus.”

The site will also feature a dog park and walking trails. Residents of Rydal Waters will have access to everything offered at Rydal Park, including dining venues, activity areas, programming and more. Likewise, Rydal Park residents will have access to the amenities offered at the Rydal Waters campus.

Current estimates for construction of the cottage homes and clubhouse are between $45 million and $50 million. When complete, the project’s total costs will be approximately $75 million.
