Senior Living Executive Director Names Leadership Team

COLUMBIA, SC–Kaley Patterson, executive director of Amara Place, a senior living community offering independent, assisted and memory care living options, has named the four additional members of her leadership team. The team is centered on making sure each facet of the community contributes to the overall well-being of the community’s residents.

Kaley Patterson, executive director, brings over 10 years of experience in the areas of community residential care, progressive memory care programming and dementia care. Patterson has developed and maintained working relationships with different facets of advocacy for seniors, like long-term care ombudsman for the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control.

Candy Kennedy, executive chef, brings over two decades of culinary experience to Amara Place. After landing her first sous chef position at New York’s Park Avenue Bistro, Kennedy shifted her focus to helping the elderly. At Amara Place, Kennedy is tasked with providing high-quality meals that accommodate individual resident’s nutritional needs and preferences.

Ashleigh Brown, Vibrant Life® director, gained two years of experience as the activities director for a nonprofit assisted living home. Now, as the Vibrant Life director, she will provide daily activities that stay true to the community’s founding principles and elevate and enrich the lives of the residents.

Robbie Sanborn, resident care director, joined Amara Place in April. She has been an LPN since 1991. She brings her knowledge not only with assisted living experience, but also with long-term care planning and wound care.

Sanford Rivers, maintenance director, has several years of experience in managerial and superintendent positions in the maintenance industry. His background includes building and grounds maintenance, HVAC maintenance, and electrical installments. At Amara Place, Rivers is responsible for keeping the community running smoothly and maintaining its inviting appearance.
