Sixth Largest Not-for-profit Senior Living Organization Announces Name Change to Convenant Living Communities and Services

September 18, 2018

SKOKIE, IL–Covenant Living Communities and Services is the new corporate name and identity being announced nationwide today by Covenant Retirement Communities, Inc., a senior living and healthcare provider that owns and manages 16 communities in nine states. The announcement comes following unanimous approval by its board of directors for the new name and logo effective in 2019.

“Covenant Living Communities and Services positions us well as we grow in providing different services for older adults beyond the bricks and mortar of the communities we operate,” said Terri Cunliffe, Covenant Retirement Communities president and CEO. “The new name and logo connects us to our strong Christian heritage, distinctly reflects our values, and projects liveliness, health and growth. We are confident it will attract new generations of residents and employees.”

The organization’s refreshed name, that also includes the tag line, “Live with Promise,” is the result of market research and interviews with individuals that included residents, resident family members, representatives from the Evangelical Covenant Church and several focus groups throughout the country.

Each of the 16 communities across the country will also see a name change in 2019 to align with the new corporate brand and identity. The community names will incorporate Covenant Living, along with their location identifier—all distinctive to each location, but connecting to the strength of the larger organization.

“This is an exciting time in our history as our leadership continues to follow our strategic plan of growth, optimization and service,” added Cunliffe. “The new generation of older adults is seeking communities that reflect who they are and provide the services and amenities of choice. We know they’re not retiring when they move to a Covenant Living community. They are living very active lives.”

The new logo is reflective of Covenant Living’s rich heritage of being a faith-based organization that incorporates the Christian symbol of a fish implying new life, a safe space and of community. The color palette was chosen to communicate vitality and health.

Chicago-based Covenant Retirement Communities is the nation’s sixth largest, non-profit, senior services provider. It serves 5,000 residents at 16 retirement communities in 9 states and offers independent living, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, and rehabilitation.
