Sunrise Senior Living Introduces Sunrise Villa

July 31, 2017

MCLEAN, VA–Sunrise Senior Living has announced the launch of a new brand extension, Sunrise Villa, which focuses on supporting the personal health and wellness goals of its residents. The new brand will encompass seven of Sunrise’s newest acquisitions in California, including senior living communities in Santa Rosa, San Jose, San Ramon, Salinas, Sonoma, Placentia, and Los Angeles. These unique communities are proud to carry on Sunrise Senior Living’s mission to champion quality of life for all seniors — a commitment and passion that has made Sunrise the leader in providing resident-centered care to seniors and their families since 1981.

The California Department of Aging projects the state’s senior population will grow more than twice as fast as the total population. As a result, increasing senior housing options where residents can live and thrive, is a high priority for the state and Sunrise.

“We are excited to continue our growth in California to address these housing needs and provide families in California with more options for a personalized experience that focuses on healthy aging,” said Jeff Slichta, senior vice president of Operations for Sunrise. “Our experienced and dedicated team employs an individualized approach to help residents reach their overall wellness goals.”

Each Sunrise Villa community will offer assisted living services, as well as care for those in the early stages of memory loss in a comfortable and engaging environment that promotes active, happy days. Sunrise Villa San Ramon will additionally provide independent living services.

Prior to moving in, residents complete a Personal Discovery Worksheet to determine their individualized goals, and gather information about each resident’s rich history, spiritual preferences, occupation, hobbies, skills, interests, and preferences. Sunrise Villa features Sunrise’s Live With Purpose programming, with an activities calendar that is unique to each community and driven by resident feedback.

“Our Villa communities will pair Sunrise’s more than 35 years of experience providing seniors high-quality care and programming with a fresh take on active senior living,” said Meghan Lublin, senior vice president of Marketing & Communications for Sunrise. “We know that different customers want different experiences, and Sunrise Villa presents us with an opportunity to bring our leading services to benefit more seniors and their families.”

Situated in convenient, urban locations, Sunrise Villa communities are seamlessly integrated into the larger neighborhoods where they’re located. With communal gathering spaces, residents are encouraged to live fulfilling, healthy lives through events and activities inside the communities or while exploring outdoor spaces, such as landscaped gardens and patios, for reflection time and conversations.

The family-style dining rooms were also designed to inspire group meals, relaxed conversation and opportunities to share health and diet goals. In-house chefs prepare meals that feature seasonal offerings, resident-suggested options, regional dishes, and flavors from around the world. Residents are also able to design meals that align with their own health and wellness goals through specialized diets and nutritional programs offered by the communities.

Each resident may also fill their private suite with cherished personal items, from furniture and décor to family photos and personal artifacts. In addition to preparing meals for residents, Sunrise Villa communities will also handle other housework responsibilities, including cleaning and laundry (upon request), so each resident can focus on what matters most to them and accomplishing personal ambitions.

Sunrise expects to continue its strategic growth in California with the upcoming opening of Sunrise of Pleasanton in San Francisco’s Bay Area this September. The company also recently celebrated the opening Sunrise of Sabre Springs, its fourth community in the San Diego area.
