The Asbury Group, Connected Living Partner to Pilot Voice Technology Platform

October 26, 2018

FREDERICK, MD —The Asbury Group Integrated Technologies is partnering with Connected Living to pilot a new Smart Living program for Asbury Communities, the nation’s 15th largest system of not-for profit continuing care retirement communities based in Maryland.

Connected Living’s platform provides residents of retirement communities and their families with a streamlined connection to community information, each other, and the larger community via the web, mobile, and digital signage—and now, through voice technology provided by such Amazon devices as Echo, Echo Dot, and Echo Show.

Residents will be able to access events and information, connect with apps and social networks online, utilize Smart Home features, and benefit from the assistive voice technology in the event of age-related or other health challenges.

Connected Living recently began offering its Smart Living program through Sodexo Senior Services, an Asbury partner. The offering will bring a new layer of engagement to Asbury residents, beginning with a pilot with residents of Asbury Methodist Village located in Gaithersburg, MD, where it is currently in the implementation stage.

“Bringing Connected Living into Asbury Communities was an easy decision. Their full offering of digital signage, private TV channel, mobile app, and voice integration through Alexa was exactly what we were looking for to continue innovating for residents and their families and to serve as a tool with daily operations,” said Doug Leidig, president and CEO of Asbury Communities, Inc.

“We are excited to work with Connected Living to bring this evolution in community connectivity to Asbury, supporting seniors’ desire to be active members of the community,” said Nick Patel, president of The Asbury Group Integrated Technologies, a full-service IT firm managing the pilot.

“Research continues to underscore the importance that engagement has on health,” said Sarah Hoit, CEO of Connected Living. “We look forward to working with our partners to continue bringing technologies to seniors that make staying engaged easy and that support healthy, secure aging.”

The Asbury Group Integrated Technologies, is a for-profit affiliate of Asbury, providing a full range of IT services for the senior living and health care industries.

Founded in 2007, Connected Living, Inc. is a social impact company founded to bridge the “digital divide” between millions of seniors and their families, friends and communities. The company creates transformational technologies that enable people to connect, contribute, and lead healthier lives.
