The Ensign Group Acquires Hospice Operations in Austin and Houston, Texas

MISSION VIEJO, CA–The Ensign Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: ENSG), the parent company of the Ensign™ group of  killed nursing, rehabilitative care services, home health care, hospice care, medical transportation, and assisted living companies, announced today that a subsidiary of Cornerstone Healthcare, Inc., Ensign’s home health and hospice portfolio subsidiary, had acquired the assets of Resolutions Hospice, which operates hospice agencies in Austin and Houston, TX. The acquisition was effective May 1, 2019.

In separate transactions on the same day, Ensign announced that it acquired the operations of four facilities in California, including The Hills Post Acute in Santa Ana, St. Elizabeth Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Fullerton, Villa Maria Post Acute in Santa Maria, and Mainplace Post Acute in Orange, as well as the operations of two campuses located in Peoria, Arizona and Mesa Arizona, respectively.  Each of these acquisitions were also effective May 1, 2019.

With the acquisition, Cornerstone subsidiaries now operate 25 home health operations, twenty-six hospice operations, and nine home care operations across twelve states.

Walker reaffirmed that Cornerstone is actively seeking additional opportunities to acquire both well-performing and struggling home health, hospice, and home care operations across the United States.

The Ensign Group, Inc.’s independent operating subsidiaries provide a broad spectrum of skilled nursing and assisted living services, physical, occupational and speech therapies, home health and hospice services and other rehabilitative and healthcare services at 254 healthcare facilities, 26 hospice agencies, 25 home health agencies and nine home care businesses in California, Arizona, Texas, Washington, Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Nevada, Iowa, Nebraska, Oregon, Wisconsin, Kansas, South Carolina, Oklahoma, and Wyoming.
