Watercrest at Kingwood Announces Major Community Expansion Project

April 20, 2018

KINGWOOD, TX–Watercrest at Kingwood, a premier retirement community, is pleased to announce a community expansion project which will benefit current and future residents by offering a greater variety of available living options.

Watercrest currently offers 174 Independent Living residences, 24 of which are Villas. The 145,117-square-foot “Garden Village” expansion will add a total of 101 residences, including 73 Independent Living and 28 Assisted Living residences. The Independent Living offerings include 27 Signature Lifestyle residences and four Villas. Both Signature Lifestyle and Assisted Living are two new living options not previously offered at Watercrest at Kingwood.

The Signature Lifestyle is a highly-customizable, concierge-style of Independent Living, while the Assisted Living component will allow residents to receive care as the need arises. The expansion will also include several common areas and amenities such as multiple outdoor sitting areas, a walking trail, wellness center, libraries, pet park and two new dining venues, including one in Independent Living and one in Assisted Living. The expansion will solidify Watercrest as the perfect setting for active retirees who want the benefits of a maintenance-free lifestyle.

“As construction begins, we are thrilled to see this second phase of our community take shape,” said Terri Lowery, executive director of Watercrest at Kingwood. “Today’s seniors are seeking communities where they can live life on their own terms, with options instead of a one-size-fits-all approach to retirement living. With our Garden Village, we will offer residents wellness activities and lifestyle options that are designed with their values and interests in mind.”

As the pinnacle of the community’s customizable lifestyle, Signature Lifestyle will enable residents in Independent Living to access concierge-style services and personalized living options. Once completed, the newly offered Assisted Living apartments will enable residents to age in place while continuing to enjoy the customizable lifestyle they are accustomed to living.

Residents in the expanded areas will enjoy delicious dining experiences in the community’s new dining rooms or existing Grand Dining Hall. Additionally, the community is located within minutes of many desirable destinations, making Watercrest perfect for those residents who are very active or even still working.

“With an ever-increasing demand for retirement living, today’s seniors are more active than ever before, and they believe retirement should give them new opportunities to live full, active lives. Watercrest at Kingwood provides today’s seniors with a vibrant environment where they truly feel at home,” said Lowery. “By offering options that fit their lifestyles, we have the ability to provide them with a truly personalized experience. Our goal is to enrich the lives of those we serve through choice, value and high-quality care, and the Garden Village will enable us to do that for years to come.”
