A New Senior Living Community coming to the Ridglea area of Fort Worth brings back familiar names and faces.

September 10, 2015

FORT WORTH, Long time Fort Worth residents, Lou and Malcolm Street along with Misti and Wayne Powell will be opening a community with both assisted living and memory care in Fort Worth. The Streets were the owners of the Courtyard at River Park for 27 years along with Misti and Wayne Powell prior to selling the community in 2013.

“Our success at The Courtyards came from satisfied families and residents well served, and satisfied employees well recognized. Since 2013 we have continued to get phone calls from residents, families and previous employees wanting to be a part of any new community we develop. We are glad that we will now have something to offer them,” said the owners.

Located in West Fort Worth on Westridge Avenue South of Ridglea Country Club. The Ridglea will be a 75 unit senior living community with a second phase of Independent living Cottages to follow. Features will include outdoor walking paths, a dog park, wellness center, beauty salon, and multi-media room, to mention a few. Most important of course are the people. An experienced ownership team, diligent selection, training and supervision of staff, and the latest technology regarding medication management and care plans are our most important “features”.

Since selling The Courtyards in 2013, Wayne and Misti Powell have started their own Fort Worth based management company, Civitas Senior Living which will bring their personal style of managing to The Ridglea. Civitas Senior Living is currently managing 8 communities in the DFW and Austin area and has 5 communities in development. “Our home office is in Fort Worth, so we are really happy to be building and managing something that is in our own backyard.” Due to our long engagement with Senior Living inFort Worth, we feel that we have a bond of trust with the Care Providers and families in the community,” said Wayne Powell, President of Civitas Senior Living.

Trepex Construction will be building The Ridglea. Trepex, under the guidance and ownership of Austin resident Brent Hammond, has extensive experience in senior living construction across Texas and is currently building senior living communities in Dripping Springs, and Burleson.
