Belmont Village Lincoln Park Reaches Construction Milestone

August 24, 2018

CHICAGO, IL–Belmont Village Senior Living announced a construction milestone with the “topping out” of its seven-story senior living community at 700 West Fullerton Avenue in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. Contractor W.E. O’Neil completed the concrete structure with the final roof placement and joined with Belmont Village to thank the sub-contractors who helped reach the milestone at a recent safety luncheon.

“We’re excited to reach the topping out of our fifth Chicagoland community, and we’re particularly pleased to achieve this milestone with W.E. O’Neil,” said Patricia Will, Belmont Village founder and CEO. “Belmont Village Lincoln Park is our first community in the Chicago metro area and, as an urban site, it brings unique opportunities. We’ve worked with W.E. O’Neil for years and together we have an excellent track record of creating exceptional, high functioning communities for our residents that also fit beautifully into the neighborhood.”

The 120,500-square-foot property is scheduled to open in the summer of 2019 and will provide 149 units of assisted living and memory care for area residents. The community will reside on the site of the original Nellie Black building, which housed nurses and interns on the Children’s Memorial Hospital campus. In honor of the original building, Belmont Village has worked with architect Antunovich Associates to closely replicate its style from 1932, incorporating design elements and salvaged pieces from the Nellie Black building with modern construction. The community will feature expansive common areas indoors and out, along with a variety of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartment plans.

“It is a true pleasure to be working on our eighth project with Belmont Village,” said Lou Reiner, Executive Vice President of Operations at W.E. O’Neil.  “We look forward to continuing our long-standing relationship with Belmont Village and to producing well-designed and well-built buildings throughout the country.”

Belmont Village, founded in 1997, is an integrated developer, owner and operator of high-end seniors housing.  Since its inception, the company has developed and currently operates 28 senior living communities in seven states and Mexico City. Chicagoland Belmont Village communities include Buffalo Grove, Carol Stream, Glenview and Oak Park. Each Belmont Village property is built to purpose and licensed throughout the building to provide a blended model of care that offers flexibility for residents if needs change, and allows couples with varying health or cognitive needs to stay together.

Belmont Village Lincoln Park is currently taking reservations and will be opening an Information Center this fall in nearby retail space to provide details about the project and the company’s signature amenities and services, award-winning programs, and high operating standards for care, safety and support.
