WASHINGTON, DC, and GAMBRILLS, MD–Capitol Seniors Housing, a leading senior living investment and development firm, announces the opening of Arbor Terrace Waugh Chapel, an assisted living and memory care community in Gambrills, located near Baltimore, Annapolis and Washington D.C. The $27.2 million, 72,140-square foot community, located at 2535 Evergreen Rd., offers 84 residential suites and is operated by The Arbor Company.

“We really enjoyed creating Arbor Terrace Waugh Chapel in the beautiful Gambrills community,” said Scott Stewart, Managing Partner of Capitol Seniors Housing. “Residents and visitors are going to be amazed with this community, its perfect location in the heart of Anne Arundel County, and the excellent care and activities provided by Arbor’s top-notch staff.”

Ideally located for residents, family members, visitors, and employees, Arbor Terrace Waugh Chapel is immediately adjacent to the 79-acre Waugh Chapel Towne Centre, which includes notable tenants such as Wegmans, Target, Dicks, and an AMC IMAX theatre. Waugh Chapel Towne Centre also includes numerous restaurants, fashion, home furnishings, and other specialty shops.

Designed by Moseley Architects of Annandale, Va., Arbor Terrace Waugh Chapel features a colonial-inspired exterior, a second-story terrace, beautiful courtyard, and well-appointed amenities. Dallas-based Faulkner Design Group designed the interiors, presenting a fresh, cheerful design in a sophisticated manner.

Upon arriving at the community, residents and visitors are greeted with a spacious entry featuring a concierge desk and design touches which include a signature staircase and a mosaic diamond-marble focal wall. Among the many amenities in the community, an exceptional bistro area with a coffee-shop atmosphere offers a fun gathering place for residents to relax or have a pre-dinner cocktail before entering the adjacent dining room.

The dining room, which includes a stunning wood ceiling, offers a variety of seating for large groups or more intimate settings. As a place to read or work, the library features comfortable seating and an inviting fireplace. A multipurpose room was created for a multitude of engaging activities such as crafts and games. Arbor Terrace Waugh Chapel also features a fitness/rehab room, salon and spa, theater and other areas for socialization and activities.

“This will be an amazing community, and we’re very grateful to the Anne Arundel County officials, our consulting partners, and Greenberg Gibbons, the owner of the adjacent Waugh Chapel Towne Center for their patience and support throughout the development process,” said Joe McElwee, Principal – Development, Capitol Seniors Housing. “Senior adults deserve the very best, and we’re confident Arbor Terrace Waugh Chapel will be a tremendous asset to Waugh Chapel.”
