Cypress Place Executive Honored for Excellence

VENTURA, CA–Steve Spira, senior executive director of Cypress Place Senior Living, has been named Outstanding Executive Director by the California Assisted Living Association (CALA). Cypress Place is an Integral Senior Living community.

Spira received the prestigious award for his outstanding performance as Cypress Place’s executive director at CALA’s Fall Conference & Trade Show in Rancho Mirage.

“Through Steve’s leadership and teamwork style of management, Cypress Place associates have grown closer and become more effective as a team, all the while staying personally connected with residents and associates alike,” said Collette Valentine-Gray, Integral Senior Living’s CEO and COO. “We are incredibly proud of Steve and all that he does to make Cypress Place a wonderful place to work and for our residents to call home.”

Spira, recently promoted to senior executive director from executive director, came to Cypress Place with extensive hotel food and beverage management experience. His management skills and his focus on improving the customer experience through service have gained him the respect of his team and the appreciation of residents and their family members.

“Steve is extremely organized and creative, and a great role model for his fellow executive directors,” said Jason Engelhorn, Integral Senior Living’s divisional vice president of Operations. “He personifies ISL’s passion for quality senior care.”

“When I started working with seniors, I realized it was what I was supposed to be doing,” Spira said. “It has brought such joy to my life. I get up each morning looking forward to everything about my work. Most of all, I look forward to making a difference for all the seniors who live at Cypress Place.”
