Dial Senior Living Acquires Valley, Nebraska, Location with Plans for Renovations, Expanded Services and Affordability

November 8, 2019

OMAHA, NE–Omaha-based Dial Senior Living recently announced its acquisition of Orchard Gardens Assisted Living in Valley, NE. The purchase represents another step forward in the growth of the company—and a new option for area seniors in search of affordable, high-quality care.

“Omaha has been in need of a new option for seniors who can’t afford the common, higher-priced private-pay communities, but cannot qualify for Medicaid support,” said Ted Lowndes, President of Dial Senior Living. “With Orchard Gardens, we will create a community for seniors who deserve to have an affordable retirement lifestyle while still receiving the services and amenities typically reserved for higher-priced options.”

Under Dial’s umbrella of care, Orchard Gardens will be offered as an Assisted Living community, providing seniors with the ability to live their lives independently, combined with a personalized level of assistance and support. Nursing services will allow residents to age in place.

“Our goal is to help residents receive all of the services they need in a home they love, surrounded by friends they love,” said Lowndes.

Dial has set out to make Orchard Gardens feel like home through extensive renovations aimed at modernization, comfort and accessibility. Apartment homes will be updated to feature quartz countertops, new cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, laminate flooring, upscale carpeting, and more. Additional changes include renovated common areas that feature more open, functional space, updated entrances that allow residents to easily experience the outdoors, and a dining room that offers restaurant-style meals prepared under the direction of a seasoned chef.

“Residents will be able to count on a completely refreshed, updated building, as well as the standard, high-quality amenities Dial Senior Living facilities are known for: large, private bathrooms, a spacious kitchenette, and an overall experience built around privacy, choice and dignity,” said Galen Moes, Regional Director for Dial.

Beyond Orchard Gardens’ renovated accommodations, residents and their families can expect superior, affordable care, supported by state-of-the-art technology and highly trained, experienced staff. Planned enhancements include:
• Wi-Fi throughout the building, which will support improved Internet access and the utilization of interactive programs, including Dial’s LifeLoop technology for improved communication between residents, families and staff.
• A revamped nursing program that features a new charting system and provides more robust services through in-house and private duty care staff, as well as both RN and LPN oversight.
• A new training program that utilizes both online education and hands-on experiences to help Orchard Gardens staff build on their current skills on a consistent and continual basis.

“With Orchard Gardens, our residents and their families members can look forward to a retirement lifestyle unique to the Valley and West Omaha area—one that provides a distinct combination of services and amenities at a manageable price,” said Moes. “We’re confident that this updated community will provide residents with a small-town feel of friendship and camaraderie, supported by excellent care and oversight.”

Orchard Gardens is currently open. A name change to Valley Lakes, as well as the launch of a new website, is scheduled for Dec. 2, 2019. Once complete, the remodeled apartments and amenities will be unveiled at a to-be-scheduled grand re-opening event.

Since 1999, Dial Senior Living has provided seniors, spouses and families with the living options they need to enjoy their lives without having to worry about maintenance issues, housekeeping matters or security. Dial communities can be found across Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska, with more on the way.
