January 29, 2018

ATHENS, TN– Dominion Senior Living has named Kayla Cline executive director of Dominion Senior Living of Athens.

Cline has more than five years of experience working in the senior living industry. She has held various positions including caregiver, business office director, marketing director and most recently executive director at a senior living community in North Carolina.

Cline will lead the assisted living and memory care community in all areas, including working with the community to develop partnerships and build bonds with the residents and family members to create a true home for all who live there.

“I grew up volunteering at a local senior living community. After building long-lasting friendships with residents, I quickly realized I had a calling to work in this field. My goal is to give each resident the best experience at a senior living community,” said Cline.

“After graduating from Winthrop University, I started a career in the senior living industry and have never looked backed. I am excited to join the Dominion family and serve the Athens community. I grew up in a small town, and Athens reminds me of home.

“I love that Athens is called the ‘friendly city.’ I look forward to interacting with the residents and team members and making memories with my new family,” Cline added. “This is a fantastic opportunity to enrich the lives of residents in all aspects: spiritual, emotional and physical. Dominion Senior Living gives purpose to its team members and residents through faith-based offerings, and I’m proud to be a part of the culture they’ve created.”

“Kayla has a passion for serving seniors, and she is the right person to lead our community in Athens,” said Michael Holtzclaw, senior director of operations at Dominion Senior Living. “She has proven herself as a leader, and I know she will work hard to ensure that each resident receives the best care in a safe and secure environment.

“She shares the dedication to our mission of honoring God through service to seniors, and she wants to make a difference in the lives of the residents and their families,” added Holzclaw. “We believe she is an asset to our team, and I know Dominion Senior Living of Athens will thrive with her as the executive director.”

In this new position, Cline will also serve as the principal, role model (PRM) for Dominion Senior Living of Athens. Through this program, executive directors are empowered and given opportunities in profit sharing, decision making and flexibility. This new model is changing the future of senior living.

“To be given the opportunity as a principal, role model is an honor,” said Cline. “This program gives me more ownership of the community versus solely an administrative role, and it shows that Dominion Senior Living values its team members. They understand the hard work that goes into running a community, and I feel privileged to accept this position.”
