LeadingAge Announces Gehm As 2024 Award of Honor Winner

WASHINGTON, DC — LeadingAge, the association of nonprofit and mission-driven providers of aging services, has announced in a press release that David Gehm, president/CEO of Wellspring Lutheran Services, is the 2024 Award of Honor recipient. This award recognizes Gehm’s outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to community service and advancing the quality of care for older adults.

Over Gehm’s 30 years as chief executive, Saginaw, Michigan-based Wellspring has evolved to become one of the state’s leading providers of human care services, offering a broad range of resources and supports that impact more than 15,000 of Michigan’s most vulnerable populations each year.

“A truly gifted chief executive and innovator, David Gehm leads with vision,” said Katie Smith Sloan, president/CEO of LeadingAge. “Wellspring Lutheran is a unique nonprofit serving thousands of older adults, children, and families in need every year. Under his leadership, the organization has expanded its footprint, services, impact, and its mission. An astute problem-solver, David demonstrates by example all that can be accomplished with commitment, creativity, and perseverance. His many contributions to LeadingAge include mentor, academy coach, board chair, trusted board and committee member, advisor and friend, and, in each of these roles, he has strengthened the LeadingAge community in countless ways.”

Gehm will be recognized at LeadingAge’s Annual Meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, on Oct. 28, 2024.
