New Senior Living Community Gets Go-Ahead in Chicago

September 4, 2018

CHICAGO, IL–The Village of Algonquin Trustees this week gave the go-ahead to Algonquin Senior Living, a new senior living community to be located along Harnish Drive, just west of Randall Road. The 30-acre site that will house the community was annexed by the Village in May 2017.

A project of Denver-based Spectrum Retirement Communities, one of the nation’s top 10 senior living providers, Algonquin Senior Living will feature 162 senior living residences planned to maximize independence, health and security. Apartments, available for lease with no expensive down payment, range from studios to two-bedroom, two-bath, 1,000-square-foot apartment homes.

“Supply of high quality senior living has not met the demand in Algonquin, and its seniors deserve an exceptional community that feels like home,” said Brad Kraus, president of Spectrum Retirement Communities. “We appreciate all that the Village has to offer and will work together with officials as we design and plan a one-of-a-kind community with broad appeal.”

Spectrum hopes to break ground in Spring, 2019. Once open, the community will offer a range living options to include Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care and a unique Transitional Memory Care program that gives seniors their independence while supporting issues related to mild cognitive impairment.

Spectrum operates five communities in the Chicago area, including Green Oaks Senior Living, which revitalized a formerly blighted location. It currently has two additional communities under construction, in Burr Ridge and Palos Heights.

“Good stewardship and the pursuit of perfection are among the core values that drive everything we do,” said Kraus. “Algonquin Senior Living will deliver the same excellence that residents of our other area communities enjoy.”

Denver-based Spectrum Retirement Communities, LLC, develops, owns and operates 40-plus Retirement, Assisted Living and Memory Care communities across the U.S.
