ON THE MOVE: Recent Personnel Moves in Senior Living

Karen Evangelista has been named community relations director for Emerald Place, an Anthem Memory Care community in Glenview, Illinois. In this position, Evangelista is responsible for community outreach and marketing. She brings more than 11 years of senior-living experience to this position, including her previous roles as sales assistant/move-in coordinator for American House in Oak Park, Illinois, and director of social services for Dimensions Living in Prospect Heights, Illinois.

Juniper Communities is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Evans, LNHA, as executive director at Juniper Village at Spicewood Summit. With over two decades of experience in the healthcare industry, she oversees the day-to-day operations of the skilled-nursing and assisted-living community in Austin, Texas. Evans’ professional path started at age 15 as a dietary aide, and over the last 25 years she has served as an administrator, a director of reimbursement, and as a regional director of operations.

SageLife announced that Marybeth Cannon rejoined the team as a sales specialist. She supports each community, helping to ensure that SageLife’s sales and operations teams work seamlessly together. Cannon previously served as a sales director and as a director of community relations.

Zik Uduma has joined Solstice Senior Living at Normandy Park as executive director according to a press release. With more than six years of senior-living experience, he oversees the community’s daily operations. Uduma previously served as executive director for MBK Senior Living, and his career in senior-care services also includes roles as a medical technician, memory care director, assisted living director, and associate executive director.

Sage Valley Senior Living, an Integral Senior Living community offering assisted living and memory care, has named Samantha Huggins as its vibrant life director and Joseph Gutierrez as its building director. As the vibrant life director, Huggins implements programing crafted to inspire residents to embrace adventure and personal growth.

Dr. Cleopatra Kitt has been appointed to the Virginia Board of Nursing by Governor Glenn Youngkin. Dr. Kitt currently serves as the senior vice president of leadership development at Retirement Unlimited, Inc.; she is also an appointed member of the Virginia Commonwealth Council of Aging.

The Kendal Corporation has announced the appointment of Craig Witz as the Interim Vice President of the Development and Operations Resource Group. He will leverage his extensive experience in senior-living development to further enhance the professional assistance and guidance provided to Kendal Affiliates and The Kendal Corporation. Before joining Kendal, he founded Witz Company, which offers master planning and development project management services to senior-living providers across the nation. With 30 years of experience under his belt, Craig has been instrumental in the development of over $750 million in senior-living communities in the past decade alone.

Justin Ladd posted on LinkedIn that he has returned to Arrow Senior Living Management as the portfolio director. He had been the vice president of operations at Arrow until this past spring, when he left briefly to become the COO at WLC Management Firm.
