Rolling Green Village to Begin Multimillion-dollar Redevelopment

May 2, 2018

GREENVILLE, SC–Rolling Green Village has announced plans for a major redevelopment and renovation project that will best position the community for the growing and dynamic population of older adults. The multimillion-dollar project includes construction of new independent living apartments, single homes, duplexes and a new commons building that will include multiple dining venues and various amenities.

“We’re proud to be part of the Greenville family for the past 30 years, and we’re excited to offer even more amenities with the benefit of Life Plan,” said Ruth Wood, marketing director of Rolling Green Village. “This project will help position Rolling Green Village for continued success in the decades to come. We’re fully committed to investing in Greenville and making our community a place where residents and their families find a sense of security, first-rate amenities and hospitality to be the cornerstones of their experiences.”

The expansion is underway with public sales underway, and construction will begin later this year. It will include the addition of 60 new independent living apartments and 23 single homes and duplexes. The community will also focus on the addition of new amenities for residents, including several new dining venues and other multipurpose activity spaces.

“Today’s seniors want more lifestyle options and engaging activities, and we want to be out in front of these desires,” said Wood. “They also want more control of their health experience and a plan so they don’t burden their children or loved ones.”

Recent Census Bureau reports show more than 74,000 Greenville County residents are already 65 years or older, and that number is expected to grow substantially over the next 10 years with the aging Baby Boomers. This redevelopment project will enhance dignified housing and wellness services for the senior population, as well as provide quality jobs in the Greenville area.

Rolling Green Village is a not-for-profit community that provides a variety of senior living options with amenities and flexible financial services to the Greenville community. The 175-acre campus is distinguished by its engaging activities and full spectrum of health care services on site.

“As a former Rolling Green Village board member and current Greenville County councilman, I’m excited to learn details of the Rolling Green Village campus redevelopment,” said Fred Payne. “Their continuing excellence in senior living housing, quality care and commitment to Greenville have made Rolling Green Village a landmark site in our community. As an outstanding continuing care retirement community, the organization provides essential options to our growing population and attracts many new retirees. Greenville County looks forward to helping Rolling Green Village continue that growth, dedication and innovation for Greenville residents now and in the future.”

Greenville-based Mavin Construction has been selected as the builder for the project. Construction of the expansion and redevelopment project is expected to be completed in early 2020.
