Toro had served as Watermark’s regional director of plant operations in the West and Southwest from 2015 to 2017. He has handled similar responsibilities for other providers during his two decades in the senior living field, most recently as national director of plant operations for Senior Lifestyle Corporation.

“With our company continuing to expand, John’s knowledge of Watermark’s culture and commitment to our focus on quality, teamwork and efficiency will be invaluable,” said David Barnes, Watermark president & CEO.

Tucson-based Watermark creates communities where people thrive through experiences beyond the ordinary and lifestyles far removed from the traditional concept of senior living. It was the thirteenth-largest senior living operator in 2019, according the American Seniors Housing Association, with nearly 60 communities in operation and others under development, coast to coast. Watermark has been named among the top 25 Best Workplaces for Aging Services in a national program conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute and published on Fortune.com.
