Seasoned Senior Living Industry Nurse Appointed Regional Director of Resident Care for Benchmark

May 21, 2019

Waltham, MA–Benchmark, a human connection company and leading provider of senior living services in the Northeast, today announced that Missy Ebner, RN, C-AL is now lending her 32 years of nursing experience to serve seniors in Benchmark communities. As regional director of resident care, the Willow Grove, PA, resident oversees care at Benchmark independent living, assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing communities throughout the Northeast.

Prior to joining Benchmark, Ebner was regional director of health and wellness for Milestone Retirement Communities. She has also worked in a regional care capacity for Juniper Communities, Enlivant, Sunrise Senior Living and Emeritus.

“I chose to join the Benchmark team at this point in my career because they not only provide outstanding care but also their mission and values resonate with my own. Benchmark understands and embraces the whole picture of heath and is focused on keeping residents, family members and associates connected to what matters most in their lives,” said Ebner.

In 2007, she helped establish Helen’s Hope, a non-profit organization based in Philadelphia that provides financial relief to those fighting cancer. The organization was established in memory of her sister-in-law, Helen, who lost her battle with breast cancer at the young age of 38. Today, Ebner serves as a board member, helping repay the kindness Helen received while undergoing treatment.

Ebner graduated from Excelsior College with a registered nursing degree. She is married, has three children and five dogs and is proud to call herself a lifelong Pennsylvania resident.

“Missy’s excellent leadership skills and clinical expertise will be a huge asset to the associates and residents in our communities,” said Karen Bain, vice president of resident care for Benchmark. “She brings to us a wealth of knowledge about health care and senior living, and, more importantly, she shares our belief in the power of human connection to transform the aging experience and lives of those we serve.”

Benchmark offers independent living, assisted living, Alzheimer’s care and continuing care retirement communities in 58 communities in eight states. The Great Place to Work Institute certified Benchmark in 2019 for the second consecutive year as a Great Place to Work. In 2018, the organization was selected by FORTUNE magazine for its inaugural Best Workplaces for Aging Services list, taking the number 16 spot on the list of top 40 aging services companies and ranking number three among companies with more than 40 communities. Benchmark is one of only six companies named to The Boston Globe Top Places to Work list every year of the 11 years it has been published.
