SAN FRANCISCO–Sagebrook Senior Living at San Francisco, located 3 miles off the coast of the bay, has named Steven Catindig as its culinary services director and Amelia Elgin as its Vibrant Life® director.

Before joining the Sagebrook Senior Living team, Catindig was the dining room manager for Redwoods Retirement Community and the executive chef for Rockville Terrance Senior Living. While in these positions, Catindig gained experience in professional culinary management, food preparation and presentation, and the senior living industry.

Catindig will be responsible for staffing and training chefs for Sagebrook Senior Living, as well as creating the menus that reflect the community’s Dining By Design program.

Elgin, as the Vibrant Life® director, will be in charge of designing activities with opportunities for residents to engage in well-rounded and meaningful experiences. Elgin recently graduated from University of Nevada–Reno with a degree in community health sciences and communication studies.

During her collegiate career, Elgin had the opportunity to work on multiple health campaigns and projects devoted to promoting health and wellness in the community. She worked for organizations such as Northern Nevada HOPES and Step 2 Women’s Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Campus.

“With the additions of Steven and Amelia to the Sagebrook Senior Living team, our community will be able to ensure each day is full of engaging activities and delicious, freshly prepared meals for our residents,” said Benito Del Toro, executive director. “Being able to provide our residents with these quality amenities helps us make certain we are providing our residents with opportunities for life enrichment on a daily basis.”
