September 19, 2018

VERO BEACH, FL–Each day at Market Street Memory Care Residence in Viera, residents embark on a journey of their senses thanks to the culinary passion and innovation of Executive Chef Ryan Gorsuch.

At Market Street Viera, Gorsuch and his team deliver fresh, locally grown, seasonal ingredients prepared with impeccable attention to detail.  With spacious and exquisitely designed eating areas, residents enjoy culinary experiences that liven the senses in a resort-style environment.

Research shows that utilizing specific sights, sounds, and smells connects us to our memories and experiences.  This critical element of training and multi-sensory programming at Market Street Memory Care Residences is designed to incorporate the individual needs of each and every resident living with Alzheimer’s or dementia-related illness.

Each day offers a different experience, whether it’s a delectable treat from the old-fashioned gelato cart, a signature BLT at Sunday’s themed family brunch, filet and lobster tail to celebrate a special milestone, or the comfort of a char-grilled steak at an outdoor cookout surrounded by friends and family.

Chef Gorsuch encourages interactive experiences with residents such as kneading homemade pizza dough, flipping burgers on the grill, or enjoying a memorable ‘Guy’s Day Out’ for authentic barbeque and bonding time. Upon learning a particular resident loved donuts, Gorsuch created ‘Donut Day’ where residents participated in making fresh, hot donuts from scratch.

Gorsuch has served as executive chef of Market Street Viera since 2016, bringing over 15 years of diverse culinary experience. He began his career as a dish washer for Cracker Barrel and quickly worked his way up to regional trainer, opening new restaurants in multiple states. Realizing his gifts as a natural leader and his passion for cuisine, Gorsuch earned his Culinary Arts degree and starred in a promotional commercial for Keiser University showcasing his love for cooking. Serving multiple roles in the hospitality industry, Gorsuch earned Employee of the Year and Catch Me At My Best awards. He then honed his business management skills as general manager and continued to master new cuisine styles from fine dining and exotic meats to authentic barbecue and international dishes.

“I love connecting with residents and brightening their day with feel-good, healthy food made from scratch,” said Gorsuch. “I’m proud of the value, high-level service, and creative options we provide our residents by elevating our standards.”
