Sharing Love at Market Street Memory Care Residence East Lake

February 22, 2019

VERO BEACH, FL–This Valentine’s Day was particularly touching at Market Street Memory Care Residence in East Lake, FL, as six couples gathered to celebrate a five-year wedding anniversary and to commemorate a combined total of 267 years of marriage!

Market Street Memory Care Director Linda Pinke and Chef Wilson Rodriguez caringly organized a Sweetheart Luncheon for the residents and their loved ones to share a romantic meal. Market Street Plaza was adorned with colorful flowers and brightly themed decor while the tables were set with flameless candles, sparkling champagne, and savory steak and salmon. Chef Wilson even created an elegant and personal Valentine’s cake set atop a pedestal for each couple.

Market Street Memory Care resident Ken and his wife Bernice were joyfully celebrating their fifth wedding anniversary at the Sweetheart Luncheon, and the Market Street staff ensured every detail was in place to mark the occasion.

“Thank you very much Market Street, Chef Wilson, and everyone involved in making our fifth anniversary extra special. We appreciate the thought and time preparing a delicious meal, personal cake, beautiful rose and chocolates. You all made this a wonderful memory we will keep close to our hearts,” wrote Bernice in a letter of thanks to the associates at Market Street East Lake.

Market Street Memory Care Residence is a 64-unit, state-of-the-art senior living community offering exceptional amenities, diverse culinary experiences, innovative training and world-class care for seniors living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.  With specialized design and programming, Market Street communities connect the hearts and minds of residents by stimulating their senses with the goal of re-experiencing memories.

“These celebrations are so important as they allow our family members to regain their relationship as a spouse, or daughter, son, sibling, etc., and walk through life together in an environment that sets the resident up for success,” said Kristen Dalrick, executive director of Market Street East Lake. “It can be difficult for a loved one to try and help someone with dementia, to not know the right words, or to be physically unable to provide the assistance they need. We are so happy to take the hands-on responsibilities from the loved one, so instead of being a caregiver they are simply allowed to care ABOUT them.”

Market Street Memory Care Residence boasts Watercrest’s uniquely designed Market Plaza, an ‘outdoor’ streetscape with salon and spa, bakery, post office, and numerous LifeBUILT programming touches that are a highlight and crucial element of their multi-sensory memory care programming.  This specialized care community is centrally located between Trinity, Clearwater and Tampa at 833 East Lake Road North in Tarpon Springs.

Watercrest Senior Living Group, owner of Market Street, specializes in the development and operations management of assisted living and memory care communities.
