Silverstone Begins Construction on $76 Million Senior Living Community in Rockville, MD

ROCKVILLE, MD–Dallas-based Silverstone Senior Living has begun construction on a $76 million senior community that will include 116 assisted living and 30 memory care apartments offering first class care and amenities such as wellness and fitness center, art studio, multiple dining venues for formal and casual meals, and a slew of events and activities to encourage social interaction.
The Seneca of Rockville will transform the existing parking lot of the Rockville Corporate Center located at the corner of West Gude Drive and Route 355, directly adjacent to the King Farm mixed-use community. It is the first property for Silverstone in Montgomery County and has been designed to become a destination for seniors seeking high levels of service and care.
“We are excited to bring the Silverstone product to Montgomery County and the City of Rockville,” said Bobby Zeiller, chief development officer and head of the D.C. office of Silverstone. “Our properties are rooted in hospitality and offer boutique-style living with unmatched care and amenities.”
City of Rockville Mayor Bridget Donnell Newton said the city is a great place to retire and that Silverstone’s development provides another living option for seniors.
“Silverstone chose the perfect home for its residents; they will be surrounded by a wonderful and safe community full of modern amenities,” she said.
The Rockville location is one of three communities that Silverstone is developing in the Washington D.C market. In May, the company kicked off construction on a $75-million property in Fairfax and by the end of the year, Silverstone will begin construction on a $100-million community in Alexandria’s Potomac Yard near the future Virginia Tech Innovation Center and near Amazon’s second headquarters in Crystal City.
Once complete, these three properties will add to Silverstone’s portfolio of high-end senior living communities built across Texas and Florida as well as a 154-unit community that opened in Woodbridge, VA, last year.
