Thrive Senior Living Fulfills Residents’ Bucket List Wishes

October 16, 2019

ATLANTA–Living out its commitment to “do more good” while shaking up industry practices, Thrive Senior Living is taking an untraditional approach to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

Beginning Monday, October 7, the company launched a Bucket List Anniversary Program, in which it plans to fulfill bucket list wishes of 10 residents over the course of the next year. The team at Thrive Senior Living asked residents at its communities to share their dreams and wishes, in hopes of being able to make some of them come true. One hundred and twelve bucket list wishes were shared by residents across all communities, ranging from cruises to Alaska to trips to visit family members to simple cookie cravings and favorite flowers.

“As illustrated by the launch of our ‘Safety Third’ initiative, we strongly believe in putting the hopes, dreams and happiness of our residents front and center,” said Tammy Marshall, chief experience officer of Thrive Senior Living. “As we celebrate 10 years of relationship building with older adults, it only seemed fitting to honor that milestone by bringing joy to our residents. We’re grateful to the help of our partners, such as iN2L, which shares our mission of celebration and are joining us to make this incredible venture possible!”

The launch of the Thrive Bucket List Anniversary Program took place on October 7 at The Georgian Lakeside and Thrive at Brow Wood. The first four bucket list items will be fulfilled with the support of iN2L—a people-centric tech company dedicated to helping older adults realize the full benefits of today’s technology. As a part of its 60/20 tour—celebrating 20 years of seniors having fun with technology—the company and Thrive’s senior leadership team will hand-deliver confirmation of an Alaskan cruise to one 101-year-old resident, as well as flowers and cookies to another resident—both residing at Thrive at Brow Wood.

Two lucky residents at The Georgian Lakeside had their dreams fulfilled, courtesy of iN2L and Thrive Senior Living. One resident and former pilot has long dreamed of flying in the co-pilot’s seat of a private plane. Departing from Peachtree Dekalb airport, the resident co-piloted the way to Chattanooga on October 7 alongside Thrive founder Jeramy Ragsdale and iN2L President and Co-founder Jack York, where he enjoyed breakfast at Thrive at Brow Wood prior to the return flight home.

Another resident’s bucket list dream was to tour his former office building in downtown Atlanta. Accompanied by Thrive president Les Strech in the iN2L tour bus, the resident got a private bus tour of the neighborhoods he loved for so many years. Additional bucket list items will be fulfilled throughout Thrive’s 10th anniversary year.
