TUSCON, AZ–When Watermark Retirement Communities residents and associates donned costumes on Halloween, 2019, it was for more than just fun. They used the holiday to demonstrate the passions and interests that make them flourish. Among those taking part in the nationwide “Come as You Thrive” Halloween celebration was the Watermark Resource Center in Tucson.

“Sharing our true selves and making meaningful connections are essential to thriving and living life to the fullest, regardless of age,” Barnes said. “Throughout our organization, we are focused on creating environments where residents and associates thrive. Our Halloween ‘Come as You Thrive’ theme was an opportunity to celebrate each individual and get to know one another on another level while having fun.”

Other Watermark Resource Center participants included (from left in adjacent photo) Watermark National Director of Human Resource Michael Burkhart as a soccer referee; Nicola Hartmann, Executive Director of Watermark for Kids as a soccer player; Copywriter Stacey Gregory as a #2 pencil; and C. Jill Hofer, Director of Communication, spinning fire poi – with their costumes all representing their inspirations and passions.

Privately held Watermark based in Tuscon creates communities where people thrive through experiences beyond the ordinary and lifestyles far removed from the traditional concept of senior living. It was the thirteenth-largest senior living operator in 2019, according the American Seniors Housing Association, with more than 50 communities coast to coast. Watermark has been named among the top 25 Best Workplaces for Aging Services in a national program conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute and published on Fortune.com.
